How to get the most out of your couple shoot.

Couple Session Guide

We are so excited to meet the two of you and take you to some of our favorite places in the UK. As you may have guessed by now we absolutely love the outdoors and it's honestly the best when we can take our couples along with us. We really hope that you will absolutely love your couple session, you have tons of fun and explore somewhere new!

Our passion behind our couple sessions is that they feel more like a date or a really fun adventurous experience rather than just a 'photoshoot'. We always allow plenty of time for them to give us a chance to explore and have a natter as well as find some epic locations for your photos!

Building relationships with our couples is a really important part of what we do, and what better way to get to know each other than hiking through muddy puddles hey!

We've put together a few ideas on how to your the most out of your couple shoot to make it an unforgettable experience for the two of you to share together.

We hope you enjoy giving it a read!

Personalise your Session.

We would encourage you to think of ways to personalise your shoot, we are so open to ideas and suggestions from you on how we can make the shoot represent your personality.

Whether that be setting up a romantic picnic with candles and fairy lights while the sun goes down or getting intimate and cosy in your campervan or even heading to the beach or lakes and having a water-fight together.

We love making our shoots unique and tailored to you – it may be as simple as bringing along your dog with you or a special blanket to get snuggly under. And if you’re not sure then don’t worry at all – we will go with the flow!

Make it into a date.

We would recommend taking the day off together, going for a really nice breakfast and turning up the tunes in the car as you drive over to turn your session into a date day for the two of you or perhaps go for a really nice dinner afterwards. Whatever you decide to do incorporate some of your favourite things into the day to make it an unforgettable experience.

If you’re rushing to your session and feeling flustered or annoyed with each other. Trust us, it’s all going to show in the photos. Take the day slow, plan in some surprises for each other and get ready for going on an adventure together!

Have an Adventure.

We have Adventurelust locations all over the UK which is the perfect excuse to visit somewhere new and go on your own adventure, whether you take the day off together or turn it into a weekend away. Being engaged is such a special season that goes so fast no matter how long you are engaged and can often be so filled with wedding planning and to-do lists that it's so easy to forget to take time out for just the two of you. Treat your partner to an adventure away together!

Choosing your outfits

The question we always get asked all the time is ‘what should I wear?!’ so we have written a guide all about outfit choices, footwear, hair and makeup as well as things to consider bringing along with you on the day. For those that know me well know I have no clue when it comes to fashion but choosing the right colours and tones for your outfits will make a huge difference to the photos so hopefully you will fine this guide helpful for some inspiration if nothing else!

The day of the Shoot.

One thing we can never guarantee in this country is good weather. I personally love shooting in all weather scenarios with some of my favourite ever shoots being in the freezing cold and torrential rain! It's worth keeping an eye on the forecast and bringing along extra layers, blankets, hot-water bottles as well as if we end up with a really hot day bring along your favorite drinks and snacks with you!

Enjoy the Moment.

Above all, have fun! This session should be all about the two of you, your love for each other and documenting how you feel each other right now in this moment. We will help and guide you throughout the session to help with any nerves so you can just relax and enjoy your time together while we snap away!
