These guys were awesome!!
We had never met the couple and we wouldn’t until we were in Cyprus a couple of days before their big day. I don’t know if that was scarier for me or for the bride & groom! We had the best couple of days meeting their bridal party, wedding planners and exploring another country. The actual wedding day almost felt surreal, I am use to being up at the crack of dawn at the bride’s house capturing the beautiful chaos that is bridal prep!
After a super chilled morning of having breakfast with their guests Sam + Chris departed to the opposite sides of the hotel for a relaxed morning sipping cocktails by the pool at the Atlantica Oasis Hotel before sneaking to their rooms to get ready.
As the couple were both getting married in the same hotel it was a great chance for me to capture some photos of the guys getting prepped as well as the ladies. By midday the guys were already at the bar having some beers in their straw hats, chinos and sky blue bowties.
In true tradition a wedding car arrived to pick Sam up to drive her around the block a couple of times before dropping her off at the venue across the road.
The day was filled with some much raw emotion, it was an intimate wedding of 30 guests and you could tell that every single guest was routing for them and so happy that after 10 years of being together that the day had finally come for them to tie the knot.
It was an amazing day filled with magicians, theatrical dancers and the cutest kids! I am so grateful for Sam + Chris for inviting me to come over from England to capture their special day. There was just one slightly awkward moment that I don’t think I can ever forget is when it came to the champagne toast and the wedding coordinator asked me to give a speech!! Luckily the best man jumped in my place on this one ;)
The next day we jumped in the pool for some Aqua-aerobics with the wedding party before me and my sister Debz had one final ice-cream before heading back to the UK after an amazing couple of days in the sun with new found friends.
After spending a couple of days with Sam + Chris’ closest friends and family in Cyprus – I could not wait for their second part of their wedding in the UK. It felt like being with family – everyone was so warm and welcoming – we reminisced about the amazing time in Cyprus as well as getting the low-down of the mischief they had been up to after we had gone! I really hope we get to hang out with these guys again soon! (Plus they have the cutest kids!)
