LOVE STORIES

Industrial DIY Wedding | Elsecar Heritage Centre

Take an empty industrial warehouse and fill it with fairy lights, home-grown flowers and old records! This was the perfect DIY wedding with the magic being in the all small details.

I first met Pippa while camping in a field in Nefyn, North Wales (yes Wales, yes it rained… and thundered and yes our tent leaked but we wouldn’t expect anything else camping in the UK!). Having said all that, it was that exact field where Sam & Pippa later met, fell in love and also where Sam proposed to Pippa several years later! Sometimes you can find romance in the most unexpected places!

I am quickly realising that there is something very special about the Nefyn field, Sam & Pippa are now the second Nefyn love story that we have been privileged enough to photograph and after speaking with the guests at their wedding there are also many others who have met and fallen in love while camping in this glorified field.

This wedding was stunning from start to finish, we had the perfect mix of a church wedding with a quick stop off at a countryside location and then full on gorgeous industrial reception in the quirky Elsecar Heritage Centre setting which almost feels like a little village of its own.

We couldn’t believe how quickly time flew. Pippa being super organised had thought about every detail down to the minute. This meant there was always something going on from pub quizzes in-between courses to a Ceilidh in the evening to get everyone on the dance floor. We got completely carried away taking photos of guests that we hadn’t realised that home time had long been calling. So Pippa & Sam – be prepared for a whole bunch of candid photos of your guests attempting the ceilidh while uncontrollably laughing, falling over and even some high heels snapping!
