LOVE STORIES

From Formby to Ormskirk | Wedding Photography

We first met Jas and Dan a few months ago for their engagement shoot in Formby. We had such a great day with them and listening to their wedding plans we kind of knew that it was going to be a cracking wedding and boy it didn't disappoint.

After a couple of false starts trying to find a marquee in the countryside surrounding Ormskirk (thanks Google Maps), we came across a bunting walkway lined on both sides with wild flowers and leading through an arch to their marquee ceremony venue. The field around the marquee was set out with old wooden cable drums for tables, fire pits, candles, garden games, a clay pigeon shooting area and to cap it all off, Roxy the dog!

We had been asked to cover both bridal prep and groom prep for the wedding and it's fair to say that both were quite different. The bride and bridesmaids were all about the PJs and croissants whilst the boys were bleary eyed and sipping back whisky. Jas and Dan has planned some amazing gifts for all present though, apparently Jas had even gone to the extent of learning a bit of pyrography to write out the guys names on the top of their wooden present boxes.

The morning went by largely without hiccup (aside from a slight classic car breakdown causing a little bit of lateness for the bridal party). The church service was hosted in an amazing catholic church in Ormskirk, it was a beautiful venue and the perfect setting for the marriage of such a lovely couple.

After the wedding service we set back off for the couple shoot and then into the main reception. Speeches were fantastic with many a tear shed (thanks Dan) and some revealing stories of stag doo incidents. This took us nicely into some time for group photos accompanied by much clay pigeon shooting and other fun.

As the light faded and the night rolled in the fire pits and candles were lit which really transformed the space and completed the atmosphere. By the end of the night we were sad to say goodbye but were equally eager to getting to edit some photos of a very special day.

As well as photos we also were shooting a video of Jas and Dan's day. Check out the below for a sneak peek of what's to come!
